Deven Siergiey, Executive Chef

Deven Siergiey was born and raised in Barre, Vermont, and is the youngest of 5 children. His love for cooking started at an early age and while often people learn this skill from a loved one, Deven picked up cooking all on his own. He knew that he loved food and would research and learn new recipes on his own until he got it just right. This passion for cooking lead him to study the Culinary Arts Program at the Barre Technical Center for three years, which he completed in 2009. After Deven finished the Culinary Arts Program, he began working at Westview Meadows where he started as a dishwasher and waitstaff before stepping into the role of the breakfast/lunch cook in 2010. Then in 2015 Deven transitioned into the dinner cook position before finally settling into the role of Executive Chef in October 2021. Deven’s love for cooking is evident, he enjoys the creativity it gives him and bringing people together with food. He currently lives in Barre with his girlfriend Julie, daughter Alexis, and their dog. When Deven is not hard at work in the kitchen he is playing a round of disc golf at one of the various courses around Vermont. He loves to spend his time outdoors with his family enjoying one of their many adventures together.
Lauren Pasniewski, Activities Coordinator

Lauren was born in Connecticut but has been visiting Vermont since she was a toddler. Many of her favorite childhood memories are from visits to her family’s camp in Topsham. In 2016 she decided to move north and build a tiny home adjacent to the old camp. Her home, running completely on solar power, provides a unique lifestyle. Off grid living is not for the faint of heart and certainly leads to an appreciation for the simple things in life like running water, and the even more decadent, hot running water. Lauren studied Natural Resource Management at the University of Connecticut and has a love of the environment and wildlife. She spends most of her free time in the woods, exploring and photographing anything that crosses her path. Her two dogs, Titus and Tallulah are her constant companions and to say she absolutely adores them would be an understatement. Lauren’s passion and zest for life translate well into her talents as our Activity Coordinator, and bring great life to Westview Meadows!
