It seems that scams are everywhere these days! Residents, join us for an informational presentation that will address the most common types of fraud and what to do if you are scammed.

Debbie plays the guitar and autoharp and she loves to share her music with the residents here at Westview Meadows! She has the voice of a lark and plays a wide variety of songs, including many familiar favorites.

For over a decade, Westview Meadows and the Montpelier Senior Activity Center have worked together to bring about the Shoeboxes for Seniors Project. This wonderful holiday tradition brings gifts of cheer to seniors in our community who may not have visitors or presents to open on Christmas morning. Westview Meadows residents are gathering shoeboxes and items to “stuff” the boxes with. The shoeboxes can be filled with small gifts such as card games, sewing kits, puzzles, or mittens, just to name a few. Residents, mark your calendars for our big wrapping event on Monday, December 16th at 1pm in the Main Dining Room.

Westview Meadows is celebrating the holidays with traditional Christmas and holiday Celtic music! Iain’s father is one of the premier bagpipe builders in the world, so it is no surprise that Iain developed into a well respected and accomplished player. He currently works as Vermont’s only full-time piping instructor, and is also a music professor at Norwich University.

Tickets are $20 each. Residents will need to submit payment for a ticket to Carrie/Lauren by Tuesday, December 3rd.

We have all been enjoying the fine artwork created by our very own, Dawn. When she was only 5 years old, Dawn’s kindergarten teacher saw something special in the artwork that she was creating. With a new set of oil paints and encouragement from her teacher, Dawn, at 10 years old, started to develop her talent. Dawn continued to learn and grow her gift for oil paints. She earned her Master’s degree in Liberal Studies from Stonybrook University in Long Island, NY. Soon after, she began teaching Art in the Islip School district to grades K-12 and also college level classes at Dowling University. Join us for a reception to hear from the artist and learn about her artistic journey.
Light refreshments will be served.

The Westview Meadows community will continue the ritual this year of the annual Candlelight Remembrance service. All community members and staff are welcome and encouraged to attend. This event creates the opportunity to gather and reflect upon our friends and community members whose losses we have experienced this past year. We will again gratefully host Carolyn’s Angel Band (“hospice singers”) and Diana Moore, who is in the role of Bereavement Coordinator with Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice. You will be welcome to share your own reflections, a reading, song, or a poem, with the community and hope you will feel open to do so.
