Earline Marsh is a member of the Poetry Society Of Vermont council (& Gary Residence longtime volunteer!) and Jane is a past president. They will be leading a poetry reading here at Westview! Westview Meadows has exciting news to share as the holiday season approaches quickly! Westview Meadows will be hosting a great opportunity for some early Holiday Shopping on Monday, November 12th in the Main Dining Room from 9:00am – 3:00pm.
Residents will be taking a trip to the Stowe Foliage Arts Festival. Where there will be art and fine craftwork from over 150 juried Fine Artists and Artisans. There will be live music and other entertainment, great food, draft beer, wine, and demonstrations of traditional craftwork. Residents can sample and purchase specialty food products such as maple syrup, gourmet chocolate, crafts, distilled spirits, and more!

Walt Whitman is one of America’s greatest poets, a giant of American literature. His poetry speaks powerfully to all of us, telling of the beauty of the natural world and the value and dignity of every person. Jacob Stone has studied Whitman’s life and works for the past thirty years, taught about him in numerous university courses, and has frequently offered community seminars about him. In this program we’ll learn about his fascinating life, hear some of his most powerful poems, and hear him in the only existing recording of his voice.

No Strings Marionette’s Company of Vermont will be at Westview Meadows with their small stage to offer a program that is very popular– a singalong with puppets. This is an interactive, participatory program.

The Montpelier Senior Activity Center is offering a class for Beginning knitters who are ready for the next step. They will learn how to read a
pattern and learn a new cast-on (Turkish cast on) for a seamless
start. Knitters will also learn how to knit short rows. The instructor, Shelley Martin, will also provide two patterns to knit different types of totes to use for grocery bags.
